-> Back to BarCampAmsterdam *October 7th BIG UPDATE: we've got the [http://www.mediamatic.net/ mediamatic] space for free!* - picture can be found at http://flickr.com/photos/mies/tags/barcampamsterdam/ *October 6th UPDATE - have tentative venue!* - Looks like we might have a space for 40 from mediamatic. Mies will see venue on Friday and post photos and hopefully we'll get it for 24 hours for a reasonable price. === MUSTS * WiFi - or the ability to add it easily which is not a big deal these days. A broadband connection and a bunch of Airport Expresses or cheap LinkSys routers! * Room for about 50 people at any given time * White boards * Available October 20th at 4p.m. to coincide with the end of Euro OSCON * Centrally located in Amsterdam === WANTS (but not essential) * place for people to sleep * like to have the venue available for 24 to 48 hours in a row, this is a camp after all, if not no worries, we can go somewhere else when our venue gets shut down * kitchen === BUDGET There is no budget :-) We hope to get the venue sponsored for free in exchange for PR, etc. But we have some sponsors who probably can put in some money. We should therefore be able to pay for a nice venue if it is not sponsored or free but obviously we can't afford anything outlandish! People have been asking for numbers! I *think* we could probably get 500-1000 Euros per day or so for the venue. So please don't let money be an issue . Obviously the more we spend on the venue, the less we can spend on food, drinks, and swag and remember this is run by volunteers so we won't have oodles of cash! That's about it! If you know of such a venue, please don't hesitate to contact Roland, roland AT bryght.com, +1 604 729 7924 or update this wiki or Skype rtanglao === Potential Venues (obsolete since Mediamatic has agreed to donate their space; kept around for historical purposes) * Mies has went to see the CEO of mediamatic (Willem Velthoven) and we've got the space.
