Old Java Flames
All the way back in January I wrote Looking For A Cool Java App, a post saying that while I have generic distaste for java, I would be interested in seeing any examples of cool apps that were written in it. Since then I've found a couple things, mostly visualizations, written in java that I would classify as cool, the only one of which I can remember is PieSpy by Paul Mutton.
Just today though I got a new comment on it, a rather weak and unrealistic argument for java, but it made me wonder why somebody would stumble across that post, so I did a quick search for cool java app (a phrase I would expect somebody to use to link to a cool java app, although it is possible that java people don't use the term 'app'), and noticed that my post was the 3rd result. Doesn't say much for how many cool java apps there are, does it?
